Day 33 - 29/07/20 - Not quite the last day!!

A wee bit of admin and car shuffling started of this morning before I got dropped back over to west Belfast.

I had called in to the hospice and asked if the gates would be open into the evening. They close at 1800 and I didn't want to take the chance and get locked out so I took the car to work (in mallusk) and planned to finish the day there.

But back to the Ballycolin road and my start this morning. The weather was overcast but warm as I set off for a bit of road walking on my way to Divis Mountain. It brightened up on my approach to the mountain; enough so that I was comfortable in just a t-shirt.

Walking the back side of the mountain wasn't as bad as I remember as the last time I was up it I was running 😅.
I took lunch down the other side by the cover of a crop of rocks overlooking Belfast City and the Lough.

Pushing onwards again I made good time and was dandering down a wee back lane when what should stand in my way...?
My last river crossing 😆. Of all the things that the last day could throw at me 😂😂.
That said it was a wee easy hop, skip and jump and I was over.

From here on in there was a lot of uphill until I reached my second peak of the day. Coming off this I was meant to head over the the Cavehill being the third and last hill of the day and entire walk. However as I was heading to Mallusk today and not the Hospice I swung left and walked down the hightown road into Mallusk.

So that leaves me with just the cavehill to walk on Saturday before I reach the hospice.

I'll leave myself plenty of time so I'm not late 😆.

Today stats: 26km with an ascent of 656m.
