Day 29 - 25/07/20 - Dundrum Sandwiches 😁

Overnight was spent in Donard overflow carpark which is a large well cut grassed area. I pitched up about 2130 under a good sized Oak tree and close to some tall scotch pines.
It was calm at this point but sometime in the middle of the night it started blowing a fair bit and I could hear the pines swaying too and fro above me.
Broken sleep ensued after that until around 0800 when I arose and looked outside to see the sun beating down on the field.

Leigh and Debbie were calling out with my breakfast this morning and we arranged to meet in Newcastle at 0900 so I made my way down to the seafront for the imminent arrival of some goodies.

Soup and a rather large Christmas baguette duely arrived as well as some other foodie items I can take with me on the trail.

Leaving Leigh and debs behind the maps took me along the coast and onto the beach. I was to also meet Nathan this morning who I thought would be out with me mid morning but it turned out he was in Newcastle early and I hadn't realised 🤦‍♂️.
Nathan (and his short legs) caught up with me mid beach and we walked together the rest of the beach and boardwalks into Dundrum itself.
Here we stopped for a rest and to await the arrival of my parents and Ethan who were coming up for a few days.

We all had lunch together in the award winning Blue Bay café before I continued onwards towards Ballykinlar and Ardglass. The first part of my journey was along lovely coastal paths and a few fields before coming out onto roads the rest of the way.

I was being picked up at 1700 so I could stay over with my parents and Ethan and only made it to killough a few km away from Ardglass.

I'm taking Sunday off for another rest and day out with Ethan before picking it up again on Monday for the last leg of my journey.

Some quick calculations, and if all goes well I reckon I'll be arriving back at the NI Childrens Hospice roughly lunchtime on Saturday. I'll keep updating as the week goes on.
