Day 10 - 06/07/20 - Cross Country and baby's heads
Being Monday my parents brought Ethan out to see me again and we had a in car picnic and then Ethan and I walked 1.5km of which Ethan navigated the lot.
Then as if by magic as soon as I was to start out on my own it started to lash, so the gortex went straight on 🙄.
Luckily 3km later it had passed and I got into a good rythym. It was a tough days walk as it covered a couple of hills, but mainly as a lot of it was cross country and through marshy grassland some of which was covered with heather, some with babys heads and some with both!!
There was some lovely views again today along with a couple of river crossings which were dodgy enough but luckily I stayed dry - from above as well as below 😁.
The day finished with me crossing the glenshane pass (about 800m north of the Ponderosa) and working my way up a hill to find a quiet spot to camp.
Which ended up being under a digger!! I spoke to the farmer and he was happy enough as long as my ass was out of the way by 0800 the next morning 🙈.
Stats today are: 27km walked with an ascent of 920m.
