Day 1 - 27/06/20 What a send off!

Apologies for the lateness of these posts. I shall explain all on day threes entry!!

Couldn't have asked for a better send off today. Without actually counting I'm reckoning there were about 30 people there to send me on my way.
I gave a wee speech and got (nearly) naked to get weighted in for our competition to guess my weight upon return.

The weather was in our favour as it stayed dry right up until around 1400 after which it didn't give a sod about me and hasn't really stopped even as I write this (2030).

My route today took me down to Hazelbank from the Children's Hospice after which I turned NW and headed up to woodburn forest via the knockagh.

Elevation gain was 228m and I walked 18km in total although I did forget to reset my trip until I was at hazelbank so lost 3km from my gps readings.

All in all a decent first day though. I'm currently warm and dry in my tent and drinking a hot beverage.
